Belts are made 1/8″ less than the stated width in order to accommodate the buckle. Most belts come with a solid brass silver or solid brass gold buckle; however, other options are available. Buckles can either be riveted onto the belt or snaps can be added so that the buckle can be changed. Unless otherwise noted, buckles are riveted to the belt.
Most belts are 1 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ wide. Garrison belts are 1 3/4″ wide. Garrison belts can be either plain or basketweave and come with either a silver or gold square buckle. For those individuals requiring a heavy duty belt, a double thick belt is available. This type of belt is made by taking two pieces of 6/7 ounce leather which are glued and stitched together making the total thickness of the belt 12 to 14 ounces thick or about 1/4 inch thick. One ounce of leather is equal to 1/64 of an inch. Normally, the belts made by Rodek Leather Works are 9 to 10 ounces thick. This thickness is well suited to withstand the weight of most full size handguns and holsters for conceal carry.
Children’s belts are 1″ wide with a maximum waist measurement of 26″. Over 26″ waists, adult pricing applies. Some of the embossing designs pictured on adult belts can also be placed on children’s belts. The buckles used on children’s belts may or may not be made of solid brass.
All of our belts are available in medium brown, dark brown, black, or mahogany. The back sides of the belts are dyed and sealed in order to reduce or eliminate perspiration being absorbed into the leather.
How to know your belt size:
The most accurate way to obtain the correct belt measurement is to take a belt you are currently wearing and measure from the OUTSIDE edge of the buckle to the hole that you use most of the time. This measurement will then be the middle buckle hole in the belt you are ordering. This procedure must be followed in order to make sure the belt you are ordering is properly sized. Custom made belts are not returnable if the wrong measurement is provided.
